With over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry we started out like most small telecommunications businesses as a local interconnect company. At our primary location in Jacksonville, Florida, we worked hard to expand our business and provide the best customer service we could offer. We kept close watch as the industry transformed over the years, and we continually adjusted our business model to accommodate each fluctuation. In 2003, we made one of our most important decisions and became a CLEC (Competitive Local Exchange Carrier.) We trained our technicians to make sure they were up to speed on all the latest technology, and we sent our sales staff to learn how to promote it. With our combined persistence and dedication, we became a successful CLEC interconnect company.
Back when VoIP was first introduced into the market, the FCC intended to regulate it as a "title one information service." However, as VoIP began to emerge as a leader in low-cost standards-based communication, the government began to discern its true potential. Now the FCC is considering a raise in VoIP regulation to "title two telecommunication service."
VoIP Mega companies, local cable companies, and even the traditional carriers we had been trading leads and referrals with suddenly became a potential threat.
As we stumbled our way through all of the commotion, we began to see a rise in VoIP companies. Especially companies trying to sell this valued service…. Over the internet???? With our CLEC license in hand, we decided to put all of our time and resources into building a state of the art Cloud Hosted Solutions Center and Billing Management System. We secured the ability to bill customers located anywhere in the world and began to fight back. The only thing these VoIP enterprises had to offer was a cheap price and online ordering. It may sound convenient, but what happened to old-fashioned genuine customer service?
We know that we can do it better. We have a LOCAL presence, we offer LOCAL support, and if the customer needs us to walk them through the entire process step by step, we can do that too. We know any customer would rather deal with the local phone technician they have known for years, than simply order a phone system over the internet.
